A label rate of "20 mL per 100 m²" means: Rate 20, mL, per 100 m². Per hectare? Use 10,000 m².

How much you need

Enter your lawn area and a rate to see how much product and water you need.

How it works

Product labels give rates per area: per 100 m², per square metre or per hectare. This calculator turns a label rate into the amount you need for your lawn, and the water to mix it with where the label specifies one. It only uses rates entered from the product’s official label. If we don’t have the label data, you enter the rate from your own label.

Worked example

Say a label gives a rate of 20 mL per 100 m² in 5 L of water, and your lawn is 150 m². Product: 20 × 150 ÷ 100 = 30 mL. Water: 5 × 150 ÷ 100 = 7.5 L. (These numbers only illustrate the maths. Always use the rate on your product's label.)

What you enter

  • Lawn area in m²
  • A product with label rates on file, or a rate you enter from your label

What you get

  • Amount of product for your area
  • Water volume where the label gives one
  • The rate per square metre

Assumptions

  • The rate comes from the product label, never from a general guide.
  • Results are shown to two decimal places. Measure as accurately as your equipment allows.

Questions

Why can't I see a rate for my product?

We only show rates that have been entered from the official label and checked. If a product has no label data on file, the calculator asks you to enter the rate from your label.

The label gives a range of rates. Which should I use?

The label explains when to use each rate, for example for different weeds, grasses or times of year. Follow those directions. If you are unsure, contact the manufacturer.

Can I add more for a stronger result?

No. Using more than the label rate is against the label directions, can damage the lawn and adds to run-off.
